This post will explore art depicting fire dancers on the web.
I left some seasons eager to fall
I left some work to bury alive
I let my means of being dissolve
I let my person curl up and die
Eating up his innards, an unfeasible anxiety
Has brutally committed to relinquishing his privacy
Aligning with the trials of the anti-Midas
Nap on the back lawn, look up in the sky, it’s…
Shapes falling out of the fringe
All heart, though we would’ve made cowardly kings
They will chop you down just to count your rings
Just to count your rings, just to count your rings
-Rings, Aesop Rock
Do not believe in something because it is reported. Do not believe in something because it has been practiced by generations or becomes a tradition or part of a culture. Do not believe in something because a scripture says it is so. Do not believe in something believing a god has inspired it. Do not believe in something a teacher tells you to. Do not believe in something because the authorities say it is so. Do not believe in hearsay, rumor, speculative opinion, public opinion, or mere acceptance to logic and inference alone. Help yourself, accept as completely true only that which is praised by the wise and which you test for yourself and know to be good for yourself and others.

Aerial and Movement Art on the Web
I promised more and for once I will deliver. This post will only contain art with aerial silks as the subject matter. The next post may be a bit more of a mixed bag.
My name is Melanie and I am a pin-a-holic- it is true. I have 17,009 pins as of today. Ridiculous right… not everyone wants to use pinterest like me, so I am freeing some of my bounty here. First, this collection of art I have found depicting aerial arts, flow art, movement art, dance… There are 269 pins total so I will just do a few at a time… we’ll start with some instagrammers.
Emilyj_74 Emily Jane has versatile style that never fails to create pieces that exude dynamism.

Maria Davydova is a Russian artist and herself an aerial dancer. She has a lifestyle instagram of lovely photos.
Caitland3 is an aerial dancer who sells wares society6. She watercolors a variety of subjects, which share the infrared-like watercoloring flourished with splatters, and I love this one of an aerial dancer!
She_collections_art pieces seem to radiate with heat. It is a fun instagram account because she shows her pieces in progress.
Gillian Maurer is a visionary artist with surrealist and imaginative pieces on a variety of subjects. Although these are pencil, she uses a variety of mediums. She is also an aerialist herself.

Until next time~
I have fallen for fire dancing, and my apparatus, fire fans.
I was really fortunate to have my first lighting of the fans on a beach.
I have collected some great photos and video of fire dancers on my pinterest board Fire Dance: https://www.pinterest.com/goldfishlaser/fire-dance/
I’ve been thinking about what kind of fire performer I want to be.
For this sort of thing it is important for clothing to be somewhat fire resistant, and without parts that fly about, like fringe. Nomex, leather, and 100% cotton or hemp clothing is ideal. For something as bad as fire dance, I really like leather and metal….
And there you have it, metal and leather in all the right places. I love this waist cincher, although I hope it isn’t too functional because I need my freedom of movement.
Make up like this, very mad max, would be perfect. Looks like soot.
Love braided mohawks. This one is excellent.
I think for most performances I’ll go with dutch braids.
Love hand-painted leather… The chain embellishments are great for dance. Love the apocalyptic feel. I see this going with leather carpenter pants, haven’t come across any perfect ones yet.
