OK, I just got my first pole and so to celebrate this 3rd post of Aerial and Movement Art will focus on art of pole dancers! Let’s jump right in.

Instagrammer and Etsy artist Hannah Pretswell  She herself is a pole artist. Shown is a commission done for @sampope21.  She has created a couple of very lovely coloring books that she sells in her store. You can see some of the pages on her instagram.

Etsy artist Sophie Rey calls this design “Chest Stand Girl”. This artist has a series of watercolors of pole dancers  and also has designs from other movement arts including yoga and acro.

Nikkie Stinchcombe was commissioned to create a series of paper sculptures for Pole Fitness Studio in Oakville, Ontario. Very cool!

Melissa Lyn is a freelance artist aptly describes her work as “bold, bright colors as well as heavily- layered realism and surrealist effects”.

Blogger Marco Angelis does art on a wide array of subject matter including a series on the erotic, and works in many mediums.

Leen Isabel has an amazing art portfolio, and she has created a very lovely series of artwork depicting pole because of her love of it. She also cosplays and writes a web comic {Shown below}. Shown: “Take Flight” Pencil, Digital Painting. The artist created this work inspired by her teacher, Nadia Sharif.

Rings Aesop Rock

I left some seasons eager to fall
I left some work to bury alive
I let my means of being dissolve
I let my person curl up and die
Eating up his innards, an unfeasible anxiety
Has brutally committed to relinquishing his privacy
Aligning with the trials of the anti-Midas
Nap on the back lawn, look up in the sky, it’s…

Shapes falling out of the fringe
All heart, though we would’ve made cowardly kings
They will chop you down just to count your rings
Just to count your rings, just to count your rings
-Rings, Aesop Rock

Help yourself

Do not believe in something because it is reported. Do not believe in something because it has been practiced by generations or becomes a tradition or part of a culture. Do not believe in something because a scripture says it is so. Do not believe in something believing a god has inspired it. Do not believe in something a teacher tells you to. Do not believe in something because the authorities say it is so. Do not believe in hearsay, rumor, speculative opinion, public opinion, or mere acceptance to logic and inference alone. Help yourself, accept as completely true only that which is praised by the wise and which you test for yourself and know to be good for yourself and others.

Aerial and Movement Art on the Web
I promised more and for once I will deliver. This post will only contain art with aerial silks as the subject matter. The next post may be a bit more of a mixed bag.

Alessandra Pisarro is an oil painter who does a wide variety of subjects mystical and majestic. She has done artwork for fantasy games.

This image was uploaded to pinterest by Ivanice Stempozeckas but she did not name the artist. The signature looks to me like it says Juanice. Perhaps someone will know who the artist is.

Lhox on Deviantart was commissioned to do this lovely piece by an aerialist. Medium is gouache on watercolour paper.

Danae Basurto is a pinner and aerialist with a pin board full of beautiful circus art many of which are her own pieces.

tatjahnah on deviantart did this acrylic on canvas piece of an aerial artist part of a troupe called the Slavic Sisters.

Olga Motyreva is an aerialist in Moscow who is also an instagrammer with the handle flying_iris. She posts many crafts, beading and embroidery, and occasionally fun aerial art.

This breathtaking surrealist photo-manipulation is one of several by Japanese artist KIYO MURAKAMI. Aerialists are one of many subject matters for this artist and everything she does is amazing.Enter a caption

Unfortunately, another image without attribution! It is amazingly lovely photo manipulation.

To end this post, I will mention another blog post about aerial art over at Vertical Wise that has the above work (Stephanie Pui-Mun Law – Dreamdance Oracle The Precipice) and more!
